The clubhouse is situated in the scenic center of West Lake, Hangzhou beside a Longjing tea plantation. The existing facade white wall is recladded with off-white perforated aluminium board to create a clean, sleek and modern branding, and to break the monotony of the existing village architectonic. The interior was designed as an extension of the architecture language where most of the hardscape and softscape were kept white with a touch of black to add a pinch of sophistication to an otherwise pure, boundless space. In contrast, the restrooms for meeting and dining area were designed to be a black space to juxtapose the white communal area creating a sense of privacy and transition.
